Oooh. He's still the Chief but has 30 days to convince them that he's qualified. Bye Dan. And if he's ousted, he's not even a cop anymore? Or is he a cop and gets busted back to Investigator?

Labella is retired as a member of the force. He'll go back to his former position as public safety commissioner. At the same salary as police chief. The city may be broke, but Roefaro can't be expected to ask his best buddy to take a pay cut, can he? Of course Roefaro & Labella may be able to convince the NYS civil service commission that the appointment was legit. Which won't be easy as the state commission will not allow itself to be used as a flunky for local politicians that want to abuse the system for their own gain.

Do the rank & file still follow his directives, or has there been some disturbance due to this? Does anyone know?
