Theaters make more money on the refreshments than the film. The New Yorker ran an interesting article some years ago in which the author attended a Theater Owners Convention in Las Vegas where new films were previewed as well small group discussions on refreshments, innovations and trends. The refreshment discussions were much better attended than the film previews.

As I've said before, Chris~~Just be happy you can watch first-run films! We get crap around here, especially if it has a Sociological or (Heavens!) Liberal bent. Michael Moore's, Capitalism: A Love Story was shown in Oneida, but never shown here.
