I just read a column by Frank McBride on the UDN page. It is great. I love it. He tells it like it is, is outspoken, down and dirty, and totally honest in his appraisal of the issues.
If you are a Keeler fan, you will LOVE Frank McBride. I am hoping it will be a weekly column and will just keep getting better.
YOU WON'T FIND THAT KIND OF HONESTY AT THE OBSERVER DISGRACE, HAHA.
JUST CLICK ON THE UDN CRAWLER AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE.

I hadn't read it until now. I wasn't really impressed.
I thought he took easy and obvious shots on topics that have all been discussed in numerous venues.

I guess it depends on how you look at it, or what you are seeking Clarence. I simply found it quite entertaining, but wasn't really looking for it to be intellectually stimulating. Just humorous.

Didn't realize Frank was still around here. Thought he moved to Florida. Know him well from years ago when we had our camps next to each other at Sylvan Beach. Boy, from his picture he's changed quite a bit. What happen to his hair? ;D

That's the same Frank, Sunshine. I guess his hair went the same place a good portion of mine is heading. Tell RJ to keep that pony tail. If I had a pony tail it would cover up the blowout spot in the back, haha.

Yep, me thinks RJ will have to do the same a little down the road also. Ain't gonna last forever. Boy, Frank has aged a lot since last I saw him. Guess he isn't living the good life.

Frank might be leading too much of the good life and it is wearing his raggedy old butt out, haha.

I am not a big fan of Keeler but have to admit when he and Frank worked the radio show together it was pretty funny.

Well I guess one either loves Bill Keeler or hates him. I happen to like the guy and love his staff at UDN. I stopped there to meet Bill and to see Nancy Ford while I was there last August. He has some good people working for him that used to be at the OD but escaped the tyranny of DD. Her loss, Bill's gains.

I remember growing to Bill Keeler and the morning show as a child. He was funny, and I always enjoyed his prank calls. But after awhile, he began to cross a line with me. And I would have thought he learned that lesson after being sued by Forever Leather and being fired from 107.3. I still find him entertaining from time to time. I listen to his radio show from time to time. While I'm not entirely entertained by his idea of funny anymore, he does have a good story here and there.

Bill Keeler in my estimation is a great combination of talk show host and shock jock, and he has the balls to go where no other wussy talk show host in Utica dares to tread. He touches on subjects that are taboo for other hosts to discuss, and you get the real story when Bill does an interview with someone.
I may not agree with everything he says, but at least he has the intestinal fortitude to say it. He speaks his mind and doesn't care who agrees or disagrees. It's called "truth in broadcasting" and something that is conspicuously absent on some other shows I have listened to.
Like I said before Swimmy. Ya either love him or hate him. He is that kind of guy. When I am in Utica, I never miss his show. I wish I could get it on line down here. Does anyone know if that is possible?
By the way, it is great to see you back posting again. We missed ya buddy.

Swimmy, it occurred to me not long ago just how boring it must be to sit or stand in front of a camera night after night and read the news or, swoop around a weather map trying to inject some excitement into a cold front advancing over Illinois. I imagine Keeler has a similar problem getting material for his show from Utica happenings and trying to turn the stuff into anything funny or entertaining. The few times I've heard him, I found him stretching his abilities. And I've sometimes found him insulting to his guests. My listener visits didn't last very long. Best part of a radio is the tuning knob.
