The 5 cent water deposit in New York State starts on Halloween. Why does that start on that day.

Personally, I stopped buying bottled water because of the dangers the plastic can put into the water especially during the summer months. Found it much cheaper to use the water available out of my tap and use a water filter instead and put it in a safer container. Must be my old fashion ways but never could stand the idea of having to pay for a bottle of water. Especially when I'm already paying for it in my rather high water bill already. Come to think of it, wasn't that long ago when my w bill only cost me about $25 a month and now it has more then tripled that amount in a short period of time. Save yourselves some money, stay healtier and take out of the tap. ;D

This won't affect me because I never bought into the bottled water. I use a Brita water filter (sometimes) but usually its tap water and then I put it into a plain empty soda bottle or a skinny thermos and have my own bottled water. Works for me. ;D (I brew my own coffee too...although I occassionally enjoy a nice Latte I could never see buying into Starbucks craze especially at close to $4 bucks a cup. (and at the rate I drink coffee I'd be broke)

Yeah Chris, that was my bitch about Dunkin D at the State Fair this year. After a long day walking around the fair my girlfriend and I decide we could use a cup of joe so we stopped at DD trailer to get a cup. I ordered two small cups and was told they only sold the large at $4 bucks a whack. Can't tell you my exact comment to them without Ralph flushing me, but it boiled down to "stick it where the sun don't shine!" Betcha they didn't do that good at the fair this year. Geez, on a hot day who the hell wants "only" a large cup of coffee. We just needed a little fix to finish off our day at the fair. I agree with you. Four bucks for a cup of coffee is insane when I can buy a large can for just a little more and have pots full. I laugh when people rave how great certain coffees are here. You want real coffee, great coffee? Then I'll bring you back some Blue Mountain coffee when I go to Jamaica in Feb. Now, that's real coffee and it doesn't cost $4 a cup!

There is a new coffee house that openned up a few months ago at the entrance to The Utica Business Park. I heard the coffee is around $6.00/cup and they serve gourmet sandwiches as well. I have never seen more that 4 or 5 cars parked there. Last week I saw a sign in front of there building advertising a special on coffee----.99cents/cup. lol

Well, looks like they won't be in business much longer. As far as I'm concerned, these businesses that think their coffee warrants the ridiculous price they expect people to pay are just "BIG" rip-offs. Taking it one step further, people who continue to pay that much deserve to be ripped-off. Places who are fair with their price on a cup of coffee and etc will be around for generations and will never lack for business. Mentioning just two places that my parents use to take me to and now I'm taking my grandkids... the Patio is one and Flo's (who still charges 10 cents for a cup of good coffee) is another. These are the places that I will repay by visiting their establishments often. ;D
