Considering the OD's quite intentional local focus I really don't get why they were targeted. If anything, I think the more aggressive reporting they've been doing over the last few months is something to be commended, not condemned.
There's certainly a liberal bias in the media, but more on a national level than the local. Anyone familiar with the Utica/Rome broadcast media is aware of the situation there, but I just don't see it happening much at the OD.

Will, maybe it's media bias, but the article doesn't tell the protesters story very well ... or maybe it was the protesters who didn't present their story well. Ms. Roberts complaining that " ... she stopped reading the O-D because it wasn’t telling the whole story on important national news, such as the current debate over health care reform" seems odd, given that the newspaper doesn't originate very much copy regarding that debate. Is it just that the OD is closer than the headquarters of NBC, CNN, etc.?
I think if you showed up on my lawn carrying signs saying, "Dave Is Unfair," I'd want you to list the things about which I've been unfair. Wouldn't that be ... uh ... fair?
There are probably a number of local issues where people would have legitimate differences regarding news coverage. Whatever they are, did you address them too?

As the article said, we were primarily focused on mainstream news media. We went to the OD for convenience reason mostly however they haven't had the coverage of national news we'd like to see and this was also the first time they reported on anything the 912ers have been doing.

As much as I agree with parts of your group's agenda I think you're dropping the ball in terms of public relations. Where are the press releases and protests highlighting the failed "stimulus" funding for the area? Where are the press releases and protests pointing out Congressman Arcuri's attempts to rewrite the history of his "town hall meetings"? You're being handed golden opportunities to get your point of view out and, as far as I can tell, doing nothing with them.

Will, it occurs to me that picketing the OD was a smart move. Had the 912'ers picketed anywhere else, you might not have gotten coverage. But the OD could hardly not carry the story of themselves as the object of a protest. Did that lead to the Keeler spot?

I cant count the number of press releases that have been emailed/called in/faxed to the various news outlets. They just fail to cover it.
Keeler has asked for months for us to come on the show and up to this point we have denied his requests. Originally the group voted not to appear on Keeler but with some prompting by myself and Frank at our last meeting we got a re-vote and approval from the group to go on.
