With the recent opportunity to view "D the Shadowman's " photography again, I was reminded of just how many talented photographers we have as members here on the forum.
We have Shadowman, Joe Mezzanini, Pete Maneen, Kit Temple, Nancy Ford, and Strikeslip. They all have unique styles and talents, and all of them make online galleries available for viewing from time to time.
We are fortunate to be able to view the CNY area, and shots of warm kitchens, serene snowscapes, great vistas, and area historical sites, all through the lenses of our member photographers.
When a person lives out of state as I do, and misses the area as I do, it is a wonderful treat to tour the area in photos from time to time. Nancy Ford published a beautiful series of fall shots in a gallery on the Utica Daily News page today.
I just wanted to point out the fact that we are so fortunate to have all these great talents made available to us here on the forum. I really enjoy the pictures, and don't take them for granted. I would hope that any members needing photography work done, would call one of these talented members to shoot their photos.
Thank you to all that post pictures of the area, and "bring me home" for a few minutes through your photographs. As Dave says in my profile on the More Stories site, "Clipper lives in Tennessee, but his heart is in the Mohawk Valley of Central NY."

You are right about that Clip, we do have some great photographers on here. I'm familiar with everyone's work except Kit's.
I like taking photgraphs too. I just shoot but don't do any photo editing with mine. The other day I got a notice that I had almost 13500 hits that week on my Webshots account. That was my highest ever...usually its only around 400-500 give or take a few. I was quite taken back and wondered who were these people that view them and which ones they were viewing. (it doesn't have those capabilites). Once one of my photos got chosen as POD. That was flattering. To take good photos it helps to have a decent camera and know and use editing (but not really necessary). Since I also paint and draw it is just another form of creativity to draw from. I just enjoy it.

How do I get to your webshots album Chris? I would love to check it out. I love good photography, and great photos, but I have never been into photography as a hobby, or had the patience or time to really dabble in it.
Kit runs or ran his studio on Oxford Rd in New Hartford. He is a wonderful portrait photographer. I am not sure as to whether he is semi retired, retired, or still actively working, but he always did wonderful wedding work, engagement pictures and individual portraits among other things.
