"Film directors Woody Allen, Pedro Almodovar and Martin Scorsese have "demanded the immediate release" of fellow filmmaker Roman Polanski, who was arrested in Switzerland on a U.S. arrest warrant related to a 1977 child sex charge." Are you kidding me? Or what, they won't make any more films? C'mon guys, really. How about a little humility? And I'm totally a film guy and respect their work. WOODY ALLEN? I can see him standing at the podium demanding this release with his daughter wife at his side. Who's got thoughts? Should he do the time? The victim says no. Interesting quandary. He's been convicted so she doesn't have to testify. He just awaits sentencing. Then there was the payoff. What kind of precedent is set by allowing the private negotiating of the perp-victim relationship? "Here's a sum of $$$, now go make it disappear". www.cnn.com/2009/SHOWBIZ/Movies/09/29/polanski.filmmakers.protest/index.html

My thoughts are this. I far from condone what he did but I am having a hard time with why it took 30 something years to arrest him after he fleed the country. I don't think for one second it they had not wanted to they could have grabbed him earlier. So the real question is what is going on now to have brought this to the outcome where it now stands. Even if it was 30 something years ago....I would have wanted justice till the day I died but why is the woman now wanting to let it go and seems to be okay with it. Did she lie. Something just doesn't smell right here with this story to me.
