In todays New York Time there is an artical on the Politics of Health Care within Medicare. In terms of an organ transplant the indiidual has to take anti-rejection medications for the rest of there lives. The drugs are very expensive. Medicare will only pay for the anti-rejection medications for 36 months. The price for another organ transplant, which the Medicare program will pay for completely is less costly that the price of keeping a patient on anti-rejection drugs for the rest of there lives.DOESN'T THIS SOUND CRAZY. Here is the artical and what happenned to one individual as a result of this. U.S. Cost-Saving Policy Forces New Kidney Transplant www.nytimes.com/2009/09/14/health/policy/14kidney.html?hp

Makes total sense doesn't it? The explaination? It's called Government accounting!
Why do we need to fix what's already in place when we can make it bigger and better right?
