In the past week there have been several stories that seem to be missing from the network news. It brings to question, do we have a state controlled media now?
Two different Acorn offices were video taped by an investigative reporter giving out information on how to get approved for mortgages and around the system via, essentially fraud. One office was in DC another in Baltimore. All employees involved were fired. Why was this not in the "mainstream" news media? Good question.
This is the same organization that is scheduled to receive 8.4 Billion dollars in stimulus funding. Our money. The same organization that has already admitted to in excess of 400K fraudulant voter registrations, had 50 of it's staffers arrested, 30 convicted and is being investigated by 14 different states.
The same organization that was, until this just happened, going to be one of the organizations that was to be involved in the census.
The same organization that , Mr. Conyers, Michigan Democrat, earlier bucked his party leaders by calling for hearings on accusations the Association of Community Organization for Reform Now (ACORN) has committed crimes ranging from voter fraud to a mob-style "protection" racket. He was the told
"The powers that be decided against it," Mr. Conyers told The Washington Times as he left the House chambers. "If the chair of the Judiciary Committee cannot hold a hearing if he wants to, [then] who are the powers that he is beholden to?" she said. "Is it the leadership, is it the White House, is it contributors? Who is 'the power'?"
The comment spurred similar questions by House Republicans, who asked whether House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was involved in blocking the probe.
"Chairman Conyers has a responsibility to explain who is blocking this investigation, and why. Is it Speaker Pelosi? Others in the Democratic leadership? Who in Congress is covering up ACORN's corruption?" said Michael Steel, spokesman for House Minority Leader John A. Boehner, Ohio Republican
How much news coverage was given to White House green jobs adviser Van Jones resigned in the middle of the Labor Day weekend following persistent controversy over his past remarks and associations.
Jones, who served as an adviser to the White House Council on Environmental Quality, had generated mounting criticism over the past week. He earlier issued back-to-back apologies -- first, for calling Republicans "assholes" during a videotaped address earlier in the year, and second for signing a petition in 2004 supporting the "9/11 truther" movement, which believes the Bush administration may have been involved in the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks. A self admitted Communist, and by many, thought racist by of his comments .
Where's the coverage?
We saw extensive coverage on Congressman Wilson's comments calling Obama a liar at his speech regarding the health care coverage of illegals in the proposals. He later apologized.
Where was the coverage of congress looking to change the loopholes that were found in their proposals which would allow health care coverage for anyone, including illegals, due to the fact that there was no provision to show proof of citizenship?
Has our country changed that much in the past year that the majority of our news outlets do not dare report any news that "might" be tarnishing to the president of our country?
Instead we hear each day in the "mainstream" media how great things are going for the economy and how well it's now doing. We're out of the recession, everything gotten so much better.
Think back to a year ago, the economy was crawling at best and the news was all bad about the economy. Now we are still showing negative results, however, two negatives are now being turned into a positive by our state run media.
