It damn sure is fat, but I am nobody to talk about those that are obese or even rotund. Her ass is certainly qualified to be labled fat, and the sad part is that it was a reject from the start because it's rumored to have a large crack down the middle of it. I have to concede to you Fiona. My fat ass can't call someone else fat, but a svelt young lady such as yourself can most likely get away with it, haha.

Yes, we disagree on reparations, not on human spirit and kindness. On the latter, we come from the same place.

That is very true Dave. That is why I respect you as much as I do. You have certainly led a life of service to others, and unselfishly given of yourself.

I thought if you were fat, you could call someone else fat. But then you get into the pot calling the kettle black. But if you're skinny and call somebody fat, isn't it an insult? Oh I'm so confused. ;D

I may be misinformed. If fat people can call fat people fat, I have to say the Roanne has certainly got a hell of a back porch on her.

I would suggest that "Fat AND Crooked" is an apt description.
I would also suggest that if a fatty calls another fatty fat, that's talk acceptable among "us". If a skinny calls a fatty fat, then, under current PC rules, that's a Hate Crime!
So glad I am not PC.

Hahaha, well said Snickers! The next person that calls me "lardass" can expect to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the hate crimes law! LOL! I may end up rich as a result of a couple such litigations.

Ahem. "... (if the) OIN were to pay the taxes that they are alleged to be obligated to pay, what would they get for their money? "Same as I get for my tax money, I guess. Nothin ! Dave I have to diagree with you. The OIN is getting the same services as you, and you are paying, they are not. They get roads plowed, police and fire services, and to be honest with you I get annoyed every time I have had to go to a Sav-On or the Casino to take a complaint or make an arrest. If they want to come off the reservation, protected land that was designated decades ago for their use and ownership, to BUY land that they say was once theirs, operate a business, receive public services, then they should have to pay like everyone else. Period.

Period. I was being sarcastic, wcup. I agree with you. Despite Clipper's well meant arguments, I have never seen any reason why any segment of a free society should be given special treatment. Whether it's Affirmative Action or tax breaks for churches or Indians or Huguenots or Hottentots. Temporary assistance for a limited time may be OK, and in fact I did see what I felt were good effects from Affirmative Action as it benefited blacks in the early years of the program. Beyond that, special treatment is detrimental to the spirit of self-respect and responsibility that's necessary for the maintenance of a free society. And I seldom remember special treatment being offered with clean hands for what might theoretically be the right reasons. It is always a pandering device used by politicians to gain votes, or a corruption of the representative process, or I suppose a cowardly response in the face of litigation.

This is what a customer who regularaly goes to the casino told me tonight... that the whole of the Casino- all the restaurants- will require 100 points on some sort of card- that you have to show to eat there- or you have to have a special membership card with the fee being $25.00 per year- so, then, all the restaurants and clubs will be "private" and can thus serve alcohol. I never go there so I don't know, but I have no reason not to believe him. he was quite put out by it, and cursed 'Utica" politics up and down. Sorry I didn't have time to ask more. What is this?

Fiona, I am not sure how many Pts you have to have, but if you have a certain amnt yes you are in the "club" which is great. People that spend $$ there should not have to buy a membership fee. I still think that these Indians know how to run a great business.

Just to way in on this, even though it is late. Many people often forget or ignore that for many years, the counties and municipalities had exempted the Oneida Nation owned land from property and school taxes. It was not until the 2005 Supreme Court decision that the land came off and the counties and municipalities began taxing the properties. Interestingly, the local governments decided to tax the land during the time period they had the land listed as exempt. You want to talk about unfair and illegal? (By the way, this is how the uce supporters conjured up the $500 million tax debt). It took a federal lawsuit to correct this egregious abuse of authority. It helps if you view the Oneida Nation for what it is, a limited sovereignty, LIKE A STATE. We don't charge New Jersey people for running a business in New Jersey a New York State sales tax for using our infrastructure to provide items to it. Similar situation. It got extremely complex after the 2005 court decision, but with much of that land going into trust, the complexity was reduced. Unfortunately, the issues are not as black and white. If they were, this issue would have been resolved decades ago.

Personally, & because I worked on the gaming floor for 2 years, I'd hate to ever see alcohol offered there. I realize that people can have it elsewhere & wander over to the gaming area, but to see these people who may be losing thousands at a time start getting drunk? No thank you.
