The Utica OD has summarized the Arcuri Health Care Meeting at MVCC on their following web pages:www.uticaod.com/homepage/x772309022/Enthusiastic-crowd-shows-mixed-feelings-on-health-care-at-Arcuri-meetingwww.uticaod.com/news/x772309203/Audiences-comments-at-town-hall-meetingThe play-by-play is here:www.uticaod.com/live/x772307464/Live-Healthcare-town-hall-meeting-4-p-m-todayI note this from one of the OD's articles:"When questions arose about the public option, or health insurance provided by the government instead of a regular company, Arcuri said he would support a bill that includes the option if it made sense within the rest of the plan. Arcuri also didn’t rule out that he would support a bill without the public option." "Arcuri, however, said he will push for an amendment that would require all members of the U.S. Congress to use the public option for their health care if it becomes available. And if the amendment doesn’t pass, he’ll choose the public option anyway, he said." "Much of the crowd cheered, and others shouted, “You lie.”"I assume the man doesn't inspire much confidence. Small wonder, he doesn't seem to have much of an opinion, constrained as it is by "if's" and "push for's" instead of "here's what I believe and here's what I'll do." Oh well, a junior congressman isn't allowed to do much but visit the troops.
