The NH cops disarmed and arrested a woman in the Sangertwon parking lot, that pulled out a knife when they attempted to arrest her. Gee whiz. I have heard of people bringing a knife to a gunfight, but I never thought anyone would actually be so stupid as to do it. Imagine pulling a knife against a cop with a handgun, a taser, pepper spray and a baton. Geez. "Here is your sign stupid!"

Now a days everything comes down to violence. Ya have to be bad to da bone to survive in todays world. Respectfully, Concerned, that's a myth that perpetuates bad behavior, if you mean it in all seriousness. Or, for that matter, if you believe it to be the case outside the confines of ghetto-like neighborhoods, today's bad tooth the media constantly worries and rubs our faces in. It is entirely possible to be good and to accomplish good in the world, as well as remain careful and circumspect. As for the degree of success one might expect, first one has to settle his own version of success.

dave he does make a point you know what i did for a living i dont consider myself a violent man but i am very good at it I consider myself a rough man."People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf"(George Orwell)

George Orwell was aboslutely correct.
Corner, there's no question in my mind you are a good person and you have done good. A friend of mine shared your profession, and he did much good in it, as you yourself did. In my book, necessary violence used to protect oneself, loved ones or society is goodness, not badness. I did not mean to imply that violence is unnecessary. I don't believe in meeting the threat of violence with reasoned argument. I believe in meeting it with decisive violence before I or those I love are harmed. I have no qualms about protecting myself quickly and thoroughly.
My point concerned a general outlook on life from the phrase, "Ya have to be bad to da bone to survive in todays world." I took that to mean that in order to survive one has to cheat, steal, and lie more than others to get head or to even keep abreast. I don't believe that. I sorta doubt Concerned does.

Crack weed .... You mean a "buda" or bomb? A blunt laced with crack? Any of the reports indicate socio-economic? Are these garden club ladies or aging out bar flies?
