And a perfect moist day for mixing flash powder!
From "firing the anvil" to pneumatic displays people around America today will be celebrating [legally or illegally] with fireworks. Before they became widespread towns would fire cannons, touch off barrels of black powder or fire flares to evoke the percussion of the American revolution.
Being a nation that celebrates its independence using explosives, we can appreciate what the battlefields of freedom felt like without the accompanying terror and mortal danger. Humbling to me here to imagine the soldiers who fight or have fought for our almost insane amount of liberty today.
Another great thing about the 4th is using it as a "touchstone" in your memory to remember July 4ths passed with friends and family. My family mostly died off young so that also makes me humble.
One more; you can spend good money time and preperation to rattle windows and blow the daylight out of the sky without people thinking you're a suicidal maniac it's the best! [sorry.]
I hope today stays a little damp!
[On a darker note I think it is ironic that on a day we celebrate independence from tyranny some would suggest to completely ban fireworks altogether but that's another subject.]
