I'm glad you're really a fellow animal lover too, Swimmy. That tells a lot about a person, especially with regard to their empathy & respect for others, human or not. Camping was fun, but there were too many black flies when we were there. Finally saw some bears. And yes~~the Folger's can came in handy...

Are you in style these days Stoney? I bought some Folgers awhile back in a PINK can, that was a tribute or promotion for breast cancer research. It really would make a very feminine addition to any campsite. You can have the pink ladies can, and then pick up a Maxwell House blue can for to serve as the men's can.

In all honesty, I took offence to your insinuation that I starve my cats. But then I realized you don't know me.
I have always loved animals. When I was little I wanted a dog, but because of my allergies and my mother's I could not have any furry pets. So, I befriend all of my neighbors' dogs. I eventually grew out of my allergies to pet dander and now have my two cats. I am the idiot who got up at 4 for a 6 am morning swim practice so I could feed the deer lingering by the pool some carrots. While watching either some program on the Discovery channel, or Animal planet, I got sick as the crew members sat idly by while a shark played around with a baby seal. It was not until the shark left it for dead that the humans got involved. I understand why they did it, but it didn't make me feel any better.

So I've discussed a run for public office with my wife. We're moving to the Saratoga area as a result (she wants NO part of it). Man, Larry, I wished I came up with that long ago. I am here until Summer '11 though as she wraps up her 19th and 20th years in her school district.
Is anyone knowledgeable in the world of volunteer firefighting or The Freemasonry? My grandfather belonged and I'm interested in learning more about it.

It appears then, I miss interpreted your post. As Rod learned, it's damned near impossible to figure out when one is joking or serious without emoticons or some other inaudible text speak to attempt to portray humor.
Glad to know we're cool. :-)

Rod,
I know John Daniels, the former Commissioner of Jurors, is a Freemason. But since he left office, I have no way on contacting him.

Rod,
What would you like to know about masonry? I'm a "has been" in most Masonic bodies in the area. Was your Grandfather a member locally? If you wish we can discuss it by PM, but I have no problem with an open discussion.

Swimmy, that's so true with regard to message boards. I've been on them since '99 (the MSN ones primarily) & all too often people mistake the meaning of another's post due to not hearing inflection. I think that's why so many people write 'LOL', etc. after saying something.
This is a whole new way of communicating in a sense. The world has changed dramatically, as you are well aware of with texting that woman & all. We are all the guinea pigs in this new era.

I use "haha" and ""LOL" way too often, but it is solely to make the point that what I say is said in good fun.

So, Larry~~Will you be getting your Associates degree in December then starting SUNY in January? Is that what you mean? What do you plan to do career-wise, other than politics? I understand county legislators need to work as legislative pay won't cut it as the primary income.

Stoney, I do just fine paying the bills. I don't simply rely on the part-time salary of a County Legislator. And I even have enough to donate $10,000 of my own money to my campaign (see finance reports at NYS BOE website).

Larry, I wasn't questioned how you pay your bills. I was just asking what your plans were career-wise. Jeez...
