Great! A much higher quality version than that on Google Books. This is actually readable! I don't know if you're following the Obliston/GF thread, but Blandina was sister to Sarah Miller Wood, who with her daughter was lost in the fire.

Dave: I have read A Sketch of Old Utica and found it fascinating. I also have stated in te GF blog that she and her remaining sister moved into the Olbiston after it was built just to show how safe it was, and also as a way to honor her dead, a very Victorian thing to do. Neither of them ever married, she devoted her life to society and good works and passed away there around 1917. Are you aware that the Old Miller Seat (homestead) on the top of John Street in Rutger Park, along with 2 other homes has been purchased by the Landmarks Society and that those homes are being restored as interactive museams?

There must be a mountain of information out there about her. Let's try to post some, along with her picture, which I believe is on the front page of her book. She's a very interesting lady who most likley has a lot to say.

Must have been great to be in and live in Utica back in the old days. None of the mishmash of people it has today. The undesirables. Why do we allow them to breed!
