I don't care much for Sean Hannity, and certainly not Talk Radio buffoons like Rush, but this is good. Listen for "Potato Day." or www.breitbart.tv/?p=305633

I meant to point out that the above segment explains the Newspeak you're beginning to hear from the Obama administration. Such terms as "illegal immigrant" are no longer used. In fact, it's unclear if Janet Nepolitano would admit there is illegal immigration, possibly planning to play it as an excusable facet of the economy . Instead of terrorism, it's called "man caused disaster." Accusations of racism and homophobia have been made against many who disagree with the Obama administration, including Supreme Court Judge Antonin Scalia. At Breitbart's children's school, teachers have changed St. Patrick's Day to Potato Day. "Overseas Contingency Operation" is the new name for the War on Terror."

Not to mention that it obviously discriminates against those of us whose memories are too far gone to keep up with the changing terminology.
I am puzzled about the term Cultural Marxism, however. Is he expecting a thesis/antithesis/synthesis cycle after which we will end up with the phrase "War on Contingency Operations?"
Dialectical Materialism is change we can believe in.

Hahaha! I'd bet Andrew Breitbart was looking for a phrase that was more catchy than technically correct.
By the way, I see the Red River forecast in Fargo is up to 43 feet now. How's your sister doing? Has she evacuated?

To tell the truth, I'm not sure I'd worry so much about this if we didn't have an all but lame press. One of the first things any leader does is "take control of the language," as we used to say in the company I worked for. Words are important. You don't want your opposition carving out the vocabulary for their own purposes.
So if Obama doesn't want to use War on Terror, I can understand his intent, although I disagree with it because it lessens our public guard. And I thought it an apt term.
But balance is everything, too. With a liberal congress, administration and media, I'd say the balance could get way off.

Yesterday my sister & brother-in-law decided on a course of disgression rather than valor, packed up 3 kid & the dog & drove to my parents' house some 50 miles away. I expect that by now they are staying with another sister who actually has the room.
She told me previously that even though they are safe to 44 feet they were concerned about being cut off if roads were flooded.

If I were president, I would change International Contingency Operations to Killing the Bastards who Want to Kill Us.

Well Clarence, I will keep them in my prayers, and pray that the property remains above the high water mark. Some times discretion is the better part of valor.

Oh wait, I just heard that the Obama administration forbids the use of the word "flood" in government communications.
From now on, they will use the term "disaster inherited from the previous administration."
