It appears that the Rome Sentinel's editorial page editor, Tom Mertz, is familiar with factcheck.org: Turn your back on cheap tricksMertz writes about how the White House and their minions attempted to score political points by attacking Rush Limbaugh last week. I think this paragraph sums it up: Gibbs and Stephanopolous misrepresented Limbaugh to demonize him. They meant to confuse you. They read the transcript. They did it on purpose. They violated your trust. They’ll do it again. For violating viewers’ trust, Gibbs and Stephanopolous should expect audiences to turn the channel whenever they appear on TV. I think Mertz is way too optimistic about the reasoning power of Americans.

Still ... you're lucky to have a newspaper that would employ anyone not supportive of Obama. I'll trade you my paper down here for the Rome Sentinel.
Americans get their news from the major national news outlets, liberal conservators of the public sphere. That's one reason why the Internet is so important to our political health. The web may be our last hope for a free exchange of opinions. But by the time the Democrats get through in 4 or 8 years, we won't recognize the Internet that survives. But it'll no doubt be safe for children.

Join me on April 1st and mail a tea-bag to the White House. If we can send enough tea bags,Obama might get a clue.

Clarence, sure, but dry it out first before putting it in the envelope.
Dave, do you suppose there would be any impact of having, say, 30 million tea bags arriving at the White House around April 15?

My parents are going to be mailing one and most likely so will I.
The impact. 1 - Headlines will read, " Obama thanks his supporters for sending him tea bags. " "Obama says, " I was overwhelmed by the fact so many people took the time to send me tea bags, knowing how much my teleprompter and I like to drink tea"
2 - "Obama thanks everyone for their tea bags, and he's frustrated and concerned too. He vow's to fix the problems in DC. That's what he was sent to do".
I'd hope it really does, but somehow I get the feeling that the only thing the news will report is that a Salada truck jackknifed near the Whitehouse spilling thousands of tea bags.
