Power has been restored for all customers in Oneida County after a morning outage affected more than 8,000 people, according to National Grid.
Karen Young, a representative from National Grid, said the outage was caused by a squirrel that climbed into the substation in Walesville.
Police and deputies this morning positions themselves at major intersections after some traffic lights were affected.
Young said they expected crews to switch customers to a different power grid to restore the power.
