www.uticaod.com/news/x1362397873/Council-meeting-canceled-after-man-collapsesI knew Jack for a number of years after starting my work in the neighborhoods. Bobbbiez might remember him from some of the local meetings. I hadn't seen Jack in almost three years and ran into him at Price Chopper last week. We talked for a few and went our ways as usual. Russ and I both knew he was gone while he worked on him, but it was a valiant effort for a decent man. I hadn't been to a common Council meeting in over three years until tonight. I was there in time for the budget hearing and Jack came wandering in and sat down with me, dragging out his usual word search book to pass the time while we made comments to each other as we always had. Jack enjoyed coming to whatever meetings he could to bring to light whatever he felt was pertinent at the time. While he was a real PIA at times, he will be missed I am sure. After three years of not going to a meeting, I kind of wonder if I wasn't meant to go there tonight to say good-bye? Good-bye Jack, may your journey be swift and peaceful.

Wow, Ralph! I didn't know you were there. I was planning going but had a meeting in Sherrill. I couldn't believe it when I read this. Jack was something else. Great guy that wouldn't hurt a fly. He was always at the meetings and said whatever was on his mind. He is a true Utican in every sense of the word. It's rather poetic that he died doing what he loved the most (at least for the last several years), speaking his mind to the common council.
I don't know what family he had, but I hope the council does something to remember him. May he rest in peace.

Yes Ralph, I knew Jack well. He was a very dedicated citizen who kept up with the problems and helped work to correct those problems in the city he obviously loved. He will surely be missed. Rest in peace, Jack, in the big City Hall in the sky. You are definitely one of a kind. Ralph, sorry I missed you last night but you know I had my representative, (Vinny, my DD coffee boy), there to let me know what took place.

You obviously have simply misjudged Sunshine's place in the world's chain of command Frank!

Hey, you two. Don't tell anyone but it is my son. Just another generation in this family being groomed to keep the administration on it's toes. ;D

I know he is your son dear. I would love to see those boys now. They were just little ones when I saw them years ago. Hope the hockey game went well, and you had fun. I hope Frank found you alright, but I am sure he did. He could hear ya over the crowd probably if your son made a goal. LOL Hey Frank, she is the little blonde transistor sister, with the 100 amp speaker, LOLOLOL!

I must say Bobbbiez was quite subdued as she rang her cow bell.

Hey Clipper, my parents raised no fool. In my (too) many years of hockey I learned early on to save the throat and just ring the old cow bell. Actually, I'm still looking for my historical cow bell that was stolen by a Cortland fan during the State Championship game when the MVCC Hawks beat them for the title back in 1988. ;D It was a real cow bell off the farm given to me by my uncle, Chet Fedor. Had that bell from the very beginning of my kids getting into hockey. I'm sure it was hated by all the opposing fans and one finally snatched it on me during the excitement of the win. Trust me, I'm still keeping my eyes open for it and haven't forgotten the anger I felt when it was first taken. Happy to see Frankie and he managed to survive the family again. We had lots of fun and saw a great game.

I wish I knew who stole that bell from you Bobbbiez. I owe them a huge debt of gratitude.
