One of the more notable crimes of the stupid, warmongering, greedy, and incompetent Bush administration was it's "close ties" to Saudi Arabia.
Now, thanks to the election of Pres. Barack Obama, things are different!
Today, the administration announced that the new Director of National Intelligence would be Charles Freeman, former payed lobbyist for the Saudi government and business partner with the bin Laden family.
Yes, those bin Ladens.
Hope and change!

My first reaction was "Huh, who?" A quick search: worldnetdaily.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=90180"Likely intel pick works for Chinese Company's deals were seen as attempt to expand communist nation's influence" "Freeman is on the board of the China National Offshore Oil Corporation, or CNOOC, which in 2005 tried to purchase the ninth largest oil firm in the U.S. while he was a member. The merger was halted following bipartisan congressional opposition amid fears the deal would harm American national security interests. The Chinese oil firm also has been accused of multiple human rights violations. " "Arakan Oil Watch, a human rights organization, issued a report accusing CNOOC last October of human rights abuses and land theft in an oil prospecting venture in Burma. The accusations came less than a month after the U.S.-based EarthRights International expressed concern about China's increasing grip on Burma's natural resources, including through CNOOC's ventures. " My more informed reaction"Huh?"

Another one of the notable crimes of the stupid, warmongering, greedy, and incompetent Bush administration was it's refusal to set an end date for troop withdrawal from Iraq.
Now, thanks to the election of Pres. Barack Obama, things are different!
Today, the administration announced that there will be no combat troops in Iraq after 2011, the end date set by the Status of Forces Agreement between Iraq and the United States.
There will still be people in uniform engaging in combat using guns, tanks, combat helicopters, jet fighters, and bombers, but they won't be "combat troops". That would violate an international treaty. No, they're going to be "Advisory Training Brigades".
To prevent any confusion the White House simultaneously removed the text of the SOF Agreement from all government websites at the same time the announcement was made.
Hope and change!
