Hey people! We're going to the beach for a week of camping. I may or may not log in during the week...it depends on how much the campground at Myrtle Beach wants to charge for access! I'm thinking it's going to be more than I want to spend. Anyway, I'll be back Friday - have a great week!

You've probably thought of this, but a search of "free wifi finder" on google yields lots of hits. Have fun!

:)Have a great trip Kim. Hope the nights warm up for ya. I guess I am getting old. I used to sleep in an army wall tent while hunting on the back side of Stillwater when I was young. That was with snow on the ground.
Now I test the furnace AND the air conditioner before hooking up the trailer. I also look for campsites with full hookups, including cable tv, haha.
One little tip that let us all go to bed in a warm environment, was to put the coleman lantern in the tent for about a 1/2 hour before bedtime. It dried out and warmed up our bedding and took alot of the dampness out of the air.
Whether camping in a tent in the snow during deer season, or simply camping in a pop-up in a much warmer area, starting out in a warm bed, will keep you much more comfortable for the night.
Have a wonderful trip. Have lots of fun playing with the critter, making smores, doing hot dogs over the open fire, all that good stuff. I envy your bravery to go this early in the season. haha. ;D

:)Yeah swimmy, but even here in Tennessee and North Carolina, it is still going down in the 30's and 40's at might, and Kim and her husband don't have a working furnace in their pop-up.
We get 60's and 70's in the day, but until about April, it still stays cool at night.

I knew some folks who had a summer place there and hunted in the fall along the unused railroad track for which they built a contrivance to roll along the rails.

Right now it's about 55 degrees and I'm cold! Last night it got down to about 35. Brrrr. We do not have a working heater! But, our sleeping bags are toasty. :-) I only logged in for a little while, I probably won't be logging in again until we get home on Friday afternoon. But I just wanted to let you know that we're having a great time, even though we're cold. The campground put a tent up over their pool and they blow hot air into it! An indoor/outdoor heated pool! Neat! The people across from us had a big fight last night, including the useage of words like the c word. All right in front of their kids. Morons! I think lots of alcohol was involved. Grrrr. Poor kids. Oh well...other than that we're having great time! :-) More later.

Domestic Violence in the Woods (or near enough) was one of the reasons I soured on camping a number years back. Loud arguments, lots of booze, wacko's up all night ..... as camp spaces got smaller and the places more crowded, we took up backpacking. But we didn't have the Right Stuff for it, I guess, and soon the kids became more interested in "destination" type places anyway.
