I'm too close to see it from my house, but if you get back another mile or so and to the south a bit, you can clearly see a denuded outcropping up near the peak of nearby Overlook Mountain. A piece of the mountain literally fell off in the early 1800's, due to a quake occurring at the base of the mountain on a fault that has been dormant since. There were a lot of quakes in the early 1800's. Sacajawea survived one in Missouri soon after returning with Lewis and Clark, according to her memoirs.
