Well, the pressure put on our council people recently must have worked because they tabled the Mayor's request for his wanted waivers. That's a victory for now. Just have to keep the pressure on and let the Mayor and our council people know that his request is not acceptable. The people of Utica spoke and voted in the residency law and NO ONE should be allowed to mess with it. Happy for the Police Department who got their contract passed with no problems that were rumored around. It still surprises me with all the problems Utica has and all bitch about, that the C.C. Chambers is somewhat empty. The same citizens are there speaking out on all matters that affects all of us. Must be everyone is satisfied with what all our council people and the Mayor does. Do I sound sarcastic? You're damn right I am!!! My theory, "if you sit your a**es at home then you have no right to bitch after the fact."

Personally, I think residency laws are just plain stupid. HOWEVER! It was put on the ballot in Utica, and put to the Vote. The people of Utica duly decided that they want this Law. So, that should be the end to it. Give the Mayor waiver authority? I DON'T THINK SO. That is NOT what the People want.
I am a HUGE fan of American Democracy. God Bless America!
