Arrest made after holiday decorations stolenwww.wktv.com/news/local/35620089.htmlIf I lived in Yorkville, I'd want to know the name of the creep who stole Christmas (decorations.) WKTV's story doesn't offer the name. (You wonder why they don't notice the first and foremost word in "Who, What , Where and When?") Does WKTV have a policy about publicizing names of minors or those arreseted for less than a felony? (Some news outlets do.) If so, it should be mentioned in the story. Otherwise, I'm left wondering if it's some politician's son. (Or wife.) In another story, the WKTV reporter wrote, " (a hunter) fired several times at a deer when one of the rounds flew through a window, and landed in the kitchen of the home." With the word "landed," I get an image of the bullet flapping it's wings and gently touching down on the toaster oven. To me, it would have been worth upwards of twenty minutes to call the home for information, so I could write, "...and slammed into Mrs. Smith's refrigerator, slicing through the door and exploding the cantaloupe." Well ... the slammed part, anyway. Hahahaha!

C'mon Dave........this is Utica! A good portion of the people that come through my drive-thru can barely articulate how they want their coffee made let alone anything as complicated as a donut. And you want good grammar in the news outlets around here?!?!?

DAMN! And I thought that when Mrs. Smith called about "slamming into her fridge" and "slicing her canteloupe" I thought she was just being lude to me again!

I think this behavior stems from an upbringing without a father figure who was allowed to give a good old ass kicking when one stepped out of line and always got you back in line.
Thanks Pop, I now understand.

Me too and I wish people would and could start kickin some a** on some of these spoiled brats today. I don't think it did us any harm and I don't remember thinking my parents abusive, cruel or mean. The rule was stated, the consequence known and if I chose to take the risk I got waht I deserved, most times learned my lesson and respect for authority. I think disciplining your child with a swat on the butt is a far cry from abuse. While corporal punishment should be reserved and used for serious infraction, sometimes ya gotta get their attention so they can learn the lesson.

There aren't many things more destructive or dangerous as a teenage boy growing into a man without a man around to show him how to be a man.
