"What Boehlert did for this area"? Like what? Boehlert was chairman of the House Science & Technology Comittee. How much out of the billions of $$$ in contracts that the feds let out did Boehlert steer to his district? Practically zero. Even the Boehlert cheerleaders at the od commented on his failure in that area. Name me 1 major accomplishment of Boehlert in his 24 years as congressman. Just one. Oh, & by the way. Boehlert was also on the House Intelligence Comittee when 9/11 happened. He resigned from the committee to "devote his time to other areas". Some public servant.

Did I miss an announcement about Boehlert being nominated to be a White House advisor on Science and Technology? How did another person's shortcomings become a plus for HRC?

Exactly Clarence. I guess Kracker is just stirring the pot with the big paddle.
Boehlert somehow managed to get elected OVER AND OVER AND OVER. Not bad for a bad congressman that "didn't do anything for the area."
I guess all forums have to have a "devils advocate" to either stimulate discussion or to stir the pot. I thought I had that position in the bag, but I have competition, LOL.
Personally I don't think there is anyone alive that could have enough shortcomings to make HRC a desireable entity.
Thanks for keeping it interesting Kracker!

LOL. I try to stay middle of the road and "lean" toward the conservative right, but there are occasions when I have to really climb over to the "right wing" side of the fence, such as when it comes to HRC obtaining ANY office of responsibility, haha.
I became very emphatically behind the "right wing" as opposed to the liberal left, during the election this year. I was not a fan of Obama, and still have some misgivings about his ability to fulfill the office in a satisfactory manner, but I am fairly at ease for now.
Now the issues that really matter are with the people that he decides to surround himself with, and HRC makes me very very afraid. I simply cannot stand the woman. It is both a personal and political dislike and I think the only thing we would accomplish by putting her in the office of Secretary of State would be to get her out of NY and maybe keep her overseas and out of mind for extended periods of time. Hey maybe if Billy boy gets back in the Washington Circles, he can "bring Nancy Pelosi to her knees" LOL. Tell me THAT isn't a nauseating picture. Same game, new players. haha.

Betsy Newmark, Fox News: Maybe this is a case of following LBJ’s advice of which side of the tent he wanted opponents to be on. If it comes to a choice of whom you’d prefer to see on your televisions giving press conferences, I guess Hillary is less objectionable than John Kerry. Is there anyone who wants to see him making speeches for the next four years? foxforum.blogs.foxnews.com/2008/11/15/bnewmark_1115/MSNBC Report (Yes, MSNBC) There was also the Bosnia sniper-fire story. "It's part of a troubling pattern of Sen. Clinton inflating her foreign policy experience," an Obama campaign spokesman said at the time.

Anything would be more welcome that having John Kerry on TV on a regular basis.
I just find it hard to believe after the nasty primary campaign, that the dirt can be swept aside and she can even be considered for a post in the cabinet. Now THERE is where we see how much the party runs the white house and how much the Pres actually runs. I have a funny idea that we will be running under the rule of Kennedy and the senior democrats in the house, until Kennedy dies, and then with the rest of the old guard telling Obama what to do and how to think. If they didn't think that they could control him, they would have never allowed him to run.
We will soon see if there is a difference between "change" and "party loyalty" in the new administration. We will find out if Obama is his own person, or if someone will have their hand up the back of his shirt making his mouth move from up on capital hill.

PR skills kracker? Hell, I can sympathize with that. I have the tact and diplomacy of a rodeo bull most of the time. Just tell it like it is, and if people don't like it, I don't give a damn.
Some dude at the bowling alley one night wanted to know why a "real he man" would wear the 22 kt gold chain that I wear around my neck. I told him that number one, Kathy bought it for me as a gift, and number two, I hadn't run across any punk assed little wimp like himself that could take it OFF my neck, LOL. He said "gee, ya don't have to be hostile about it" and I said " probably not, but then again you didn't have to be so f'ing stupid to ask such a question." End of conversation.
I would not make a good ambassador of good will, or any kind of diplomat.
