I was laying in bed lazily waking up and deciding whether I should just shut the alarm off and try to sleep for another hour when I heard on the radio that president-elect Obama is considering hrc for Secretary of State. National Security?! HA! Obama considering Hilary Clinton as Sec. of StateAnd who believed she was not a carpetbagger looking out only for herself? How is this good for the people of NYS, you know the state who makes up the bulk of her constituents? Way to go liberals who voted for her. Exactly what NYS needed for representation.

The first comment from my wife (an HRC supporter) was, "Why?"
Then
"Well... ...I guess she is a fast learner."
Is this a case of "Keep your friends close and your enemies closer."

Is this a case of "Keep your friends close and your enemies closer." Probably. I'd imagine Hillary would have quite a decision to make. Stay before the public in a high profile cabinet position (the highest, I think), but remain under BHO's dominion. And in the coming years, heading up the State Department will be a make-or-break proposition for whoever is Secretary. Safer to sit out the action in a more predictable high profile position if you want to run for President, e.g. HEW. But maybe Obama called up HRC and said, "Here's your chance to show you've got balls enough to be President." You know, the two of them could have a "me first, you second" deal, hatched back when she was losing the primary. HRC may in fact be slated by top level Democrats to be the candidate in 2012, if all goes well. Unless something changes (and it always does), this "two-fer" would be a win-win (I hate that phrase.) Or, the deal could be, BHO goes first in 2008 and the HRC runs next in 2012 or the BHO goes again, depending on circumstances.

How about HRC as Secretary of Defense? You don't think she could arm wrestle Donald Rumsfeld and win?

GIVE HER THE DAMN POSITION!!!!! At least we'll get her out of New York. I always understood the theory of "Keep your friends close and your enemies closer" but not in what's-her-names case. Only distance comes to mind when I think of her. ;D

The real false prophets are, to name a few guys like Joel Osteen, Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson, Oral Roberts, & the "preacher" that got caught in the back seat of his limo with a hooker. His name escapes me, but I think he's still around. His motto is "I have sinned".

I thought his motto was " I have sinned and I LOVED it!"
I would have to disagree with the idea that they are ALL false prophets though. They may be crooks, and they may be sinners themselves, but much of their scriptural teachings are sincere and in line with religious beliefs of the christian people of our country.
Even though the messenger may be making a fortune off of milking his followers for money for tapes, CD's, and videos, as well as preaching that you should contribute to their TV ministeries, the scriptural teachings are in line with the writings in the bible.
Anyone but an agnostic or atheist would have to agree that even if the preacher is a crook, his words are words of impending doom and his warnings should be heeded. I am not a religious person, but I believe in God and in some of the teachings included in scripture.
Faith and belief in a higher power buoys up many americans, and those that do not believe are not afforded the luxury and warmth of the hope that comes with faith.

Corner, in a way, yes:::thanks for the info looks like we been screwed for a long time Corner, I think my second favorite of The Favorites was: 6. Jermaine Jackson named his son Jermajesty. But my first favorite was: State Senator John Vasconcellos, one of many Santa Clara crackpots, has proposed a constitutional amendment to lower the voting age to grant 16-year-olds get a half vote and 14-year-olds a quarter vote in state elections ...I notice that P.E. Obama will be taking his presidential messages to YouTube. Think about this: if a candidate can establish popularity with the young crowd (most susceptible to demagoguery), and if he/she can reach them via the Internet, for example, and if we totally get rid of mechanical voting machines in favor of electronic devices, and if some day that leads to voting on line .....

But heres the thing- After the election I was talking to some of those young "First Time Voters" and asked- "So are you going to vote in the 2010 election?" and their response was- "nope, why would I- its not a presidential election."
Even if Obama gets re-elected in 2012 I can see congress swinging back to a neutral or even republican leaning.
