McCain won in Oneida, Herkimer, and Madison Counties: so why is Hanna having so much trouble?

Because Utica is a Democratic stronghold. The only way that Hanna could have won is if he took Utica. Which was unlikely. I haven't see the district results, but I'm assuming that Arcuri did in fact win the majority vote in the city.

I think it's because Hanna started too late. I'm down in Endicott now, and there were at least 4 arcuri ads to every one of Hanna's. To win, you need name recognition, and down here no one knew about him.

Well of course Arcuri had more money. I think it is stupid when it comes down to who has more money. I still need to get over the last election with Ray Meir, that is one that I don't understand how Ray could've lost.

I think Mike Arcuri is going to serve this two terms and be gone. In two more years it'll be an off-year election, less voters not focused on the national election. Look at the history of Dems in CNY. Arcuri won't have a coat tail to surf next time around and that means he's done. What else? After two more years of Arcuri I'm SURE people will have had enough with him. He BARELY made it by this time, and we know from watching him he's not going to pull any miracles out of his butt! My whole family (In Utica!) voted hanna and would do so again in 2010 given the chance.
