I remember Peck's "People of the Lie" and that example of the boy with the gun. Awful tragedy.
Here's a significant quote from the article: "... their work has attracted the attention of the intelligence community, which is seeking ways to successfully analyze the information they gather on potential terrorists."
Department of State Dear Mr. Clarence Bunsen, Based upon a random sampling of Internet forum postings as analyzed by software from RPI in Troy, NY, we have decided that you are truly evil and will henceforth be subject to the following conditions of citizenship: 1. Your income tax marginal rate is hereby raised by 3 percent to cover the incidental expenses your evil deeds will cost other taxpayers. 2. You may no longer fly in an airplane over, from or to the United States. 3. You must wear a scarlet colored "E" on all articles of outer clothing, to be no smaller than 12 inches in height and 6 inches across. You must also carry a pitchfork at all times in public, unless accompanied by a county legislator or congressman. 4. You are even more unwelcome at the Department of Motor Vehicles than you were before. 5. At any public meeting, including church services and funerals, you must always sit in the front row, wearing your propeller beanie with the large "E" on it, so that there will be no opportunity for you to lurk in the back of the crowd, preying on elderly women. 6. At each of your life events ... marriage, baptism, extreme unction ... you must hire at your own expense an auxiliary policeman who will ensure that your evil does not taint the pure-hearted but misguided friends and relatives who are in attendance. 7. Any financial rewards arising from your notoriety will revert back to the U.S. Government. Have a nice day!

I could agree to most of the above except:
I'm not going to give up my tin foil hat for a silly beanie. Lurking is not a lifestyle choice, one might as well try to cure homosexuality. Could an exception to the elderly women ban be made for Sophia Loren.
