Cafe Bella Mia in N Utica??
Hell if this mayor really wants to "check the pulse of the city" he needs to get up early and go one of two places. Lunch time is too late.
He needs to check out Roger's Coffee Shop on Varick Street, and Whitey's Luncheonette on Bleecker Street.
If he could keep his mouth shut and sit like a mouse in a corner of a room, he might even get a true idea of what is on the minds of the middle class citizens of the community.
Most importantly, these little get togethers need to be listening experiences for the mayor, not opportunities for stumping and getting TV time.
Yep, Big Dave! Keep your mouth shut, order a coffee and some toast, and sit and listen. You might learn something.
OH YEAH, I FORGOT TO MENTION, GO YOURSELF, DON'T SEND ANGELO!!

Whitey's closed up?? Horrors and despair! Where will I get home fries with onions, and extra paprika without having them floating in grease? Where does one go now to hear Malio Cardarelli's stories about the city in the old days, over coffee with his older neighborhood cronies. He used to be in there often, and many of the old timers in there I am sure have made great contributions to Malio's history stories about Utica in days gone by.
