Here is a recipe that my family loves in the winter, I finally just typed it up and am going to share with everyone.
Oven Barbecued Spareribs
4 lbs. Spareribs 2 tbsp. margarine or butter ½ cup chopped onion 1 cup ketchup 2 tbsp. vinegar 2 tbsp. lemon juice 2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce 2 tbsp. brown sugar 1 tsp. dry mustard Salt & pepper to taste
Cut spareribs into serving size pieces. Brown in a heavy skillet. Place ribs in a foil lined baking pan in a single layer.
Pour off any fat left in skillet, leaving the browned particles. Melt margarine and sauté’ onion until brown and limp. Add remaining ingredients along with 1 cup of water. Stir to blend and simmer for 20 minutes. Pour mixture over ribs, cover pan tightly with foil.
Bake in 275 degree oven for 3 hours.
Enjoy!

OH GOD it sounds wonderful. I am still able to do mine on the grill for a couple more months here in Tennessee, but I will sure be trying that as soon as the cold weather hits here. I may try it anyway, out of pure laziness and lack of ambition to run back and forth to the smoker/grill, haha.
I do my pulled pork butts for barbecue sandwiches in the oven nowdays. It takes 6 or 8 hours outdoors and I can do it in the same time indoors with liquid smoke and save all that running around. A good rub and a a little liquid smoke and you would never know it was not cooked outdoors.
Thanks for the wonderful sounding short cut. I love the sound of it.
I have chicken on the grill right now, with a hickory chip package smoking on the hot side of the grill and the chicken on the side with no heat directly under it. It rained this morning, and I was going to do chicken on the showtime rotisserie, but the sun came out and I did it on charcoal outdoors. Shrimp cocktail, macaroni salad, and barbecued chicken. MMMM MMM MM.
I love your rib recipe. I have never had much luck in getting tender and juicy ribs inside. I guess it was because I was cooking them too fast and without liquid. Ribs on my showtime come out dry and tough also.
Gotta go check the grill and eat.

Sheesh, I was drooling reading her recipe. I almost tossed the chicken halves and went to the store to buy ribs, LOL. Just finished eating. The chicken was great, but the whole time I was picking at it, I had visions of juicy tender spare ribs dancing in my head, haha. Kinda took the shine off of the Ghetto Pheasants done on the grill, haha.
I have to run to the bowling alley here in a while and drop off a check to pay for our substitutes to bowl for us while we are down and out. I may just stop and pick up a couple of small racks of baby backs, haha.
She has my mouth watering. I am now thinking it is almost time to do a brisket low and slow also. Hmm. A ten pound brisket gets cut in half, and Kathy and I can eat a couple of good meals off of it, plus slice and freeze some for barbecue sandwiches to have for quick suppers.
Jeeez. How am I to control my weight and lose some more if I start eating off of the grill every day, haha. Can't eat barbecue without potato or macaroni salad and cole slaw. Oh yeah, don't forget the barbecue beans with diced jalepenos.

Everyone in my family loves these ribs, they come out very tender you never need a knife. I use the country style ribs (I have also used beef) and the meat just falls right off the bone. I make potatoes along with them mashed or just boiled, the family uses the sauce as a gravy. And we have always gotten a few meals out of them. I also use the aluminum roasting pans you can usually find them in the $1 store. My youngest son will be very happy that I have finally typed this recipe up an he now has it!!

Country Style ribs? That's great. Those are a lot cheaper than baby back ribs, and have more meat on them. Thanks Golden. I bet beef ribs are delicious also. I don't know if I have ever seen any beef ribs in the stores down here. I had never given it a thought until you mentioned beef ribs. Hmmm. I know that this is pork barbecue country, but they must sell beef ribs somewhere.

Clipper , The only place I have gotten beef ribs from is Melrose Market in Frankfort, and I think I may have seen them in Hannafords. But believe me the country style pork ribs are awesome with this recipe. My 20 year old was sooo happy that he finally got this recipe he is making them this weekend, perfect for Sunday football!
He also loves my meatloaf that I make and Chicken Francaise. The all time favorite snack in the house is homemade Chex Mix we made a batch of that this past weekend to!
