After breakfast this morning the Social Service part of Presbyterian came to my room with some bad news. I was told I could not be discharged this Wednesday because the visiting nurse group that was set up couldn't get a nurse to change the drainage tube wound on my back for another week so they said guess what you get to spend another week with us.
Well I blew up.I said in plain English NO. Wednesday at 3 PM I am leaving as soon as my sister gets here. They naturally said that is a bad decision. Then said most likely self pay will go in effect since insurance payment end. Now my blood is boiling. I said well you won't get a penny out of me and besides what with Humana and Medicaid I have a letter at home stating that I cannot be billed for any self payment due to Medicaid laws and I will give you the number to call for verification and I will also call.
Well I am leaving Wednesday. My sister called and laid the law down so she came over here and a nurse trained her on how to pack the wound with this antibiotic soaked packing then dress the wound.I called my surgeons nurse navigator and have an appointment for follow up I hope Wynn Hospital wound care can take care of this.
What a mess. Like I said I always have bad luck to greet me when I least expect it.Nasencia is the group handling this from Presbyterian and a nurse can only get to me three times a week but the order from my Doctor is everyday.
So go figure.I am out of here Wednesday come hell or high water.I have been hospitalized since August 27th and I can't take another day let alone week or more.
Say a prayer I need a quick miracle for fast healing of the drainage tube wound. It has to heal from inside out. So far all is good with it.
Sorry for the rant.

I will be praying for you PB. Kathy was in and out of the hospital, more in than out starting in mid-December. She became very depressed when she made so little progress in recovering and ended up on hospice care when they couldn't do anything more for her. She became sick of being in the hospital and I became exhausted from running back and forth and taking care of her when she was at home.
Be especially careful in insuring that the wound is properly cared for. especially if you are a bad diabetic that has the healing issues that come with the diabetes.
