My old Iphone 6 finally up and crapped the bed, with no hope for revival. It is on my son's plan so all I have to do is pay a $300 insurance deductible for a new Iphone 11 that still retails for about $700. I noticed that taking photos the picture would shake and the photos would be blurry. I put it on charge the night before last and sometime during the night it went to cell phone heaven. I woke up to a black screen and it would not turn on. Thank goodness for the insurance. The new phone will be overnighted and will be here tomorrow. I am amazed at the way tech works now. When I get the phone my son says to call him and he will move all my apps and contacts from the old dead phone to the new one and he will do it from NY, even with the old phone being dead. Last night he tried to do a "hard reset" from NY but it didn't work. He has reset my Ipad a couple of times when I had a problem with it. I am looking forward to seeing the new phone. It will have a much better camera and will be able to do much more than the Iphone 6. It has 128GB memory. The Iphone 6 had ONE gigabyte of memory and I did just fine with that for many years, lol. He has the Iphone 16. I imagine that costs over $1000. He has been in the phone business for quite awhile and probably needs the latest and greatest, but it would be a cold day in hell when I paid over a grand for a damned cell phone. Next task will be for this old fart to learn how to use the new phone.

I have a Samsung Galaxy. Last summer I changed the four digit code to get into it. Think I could remember it the next day? Nope. I tried numerous numbers that I may have used, no luck. I even called Samsung but the only option is a hard reset & I'll lose all the pics, etc. I said the hell with it, went to WM & bought another Samsung smartphone with 5 gigs for about $70. I use StraightTalk cost me $50/month & it works fine for my needs because I rarely use it to surf the web.
I still have the old one & once in a while I punch in a code hoping it's correct, then I can transfer everything over. So far, no cigar.

I need to violate all the security recommendations and keep a paper list. Don't worry, it's well hidden. Every day I have trouble finding it.

I have a little spiral notebook in my desk drawer labeled "passwords." I used to keep it up faithfully, but somewhere over the years I have neglected to keep it current. I have so many different devices thanks to my son and Best Buy that I probably need to sit down and update new passwords and PIN's for all the different websites and apps. Sadly I find that with age my memory is less than sharp so I need cheat sheets and lists much more than I did a few years back.
All the passwords and Pin's may keep my data and apps safe from hackers, but if one were to sit down to my roll top desk they would surely see the notebook labeled "passwords" and would be able to cruise around my electronic and cyber world with ease, not that they would find much of real interest.

Now we all know where you store your passwords,?!!!!!
