wibx950.com/new-york-2nd-laziest-state/That is a rather revolting revelation. I would never have suspected that. www.fingerlakes1.com/2024/07/13/unemployment-claims-rise-33-in-new-york/www.timesnews.net/news/state-unemployment-rates-remain-historically-low-for-july/article_5c8bdea2-6257-11ef-8a28-ab3fddfaf942.htmlI am sure that there are many factors involved in compiling unemployment statistics, but it seems a bit brash to infer that NY state's rise in unemployment is due to laziness. What do you think is the major contributing factor? The high taxes and cost of doing business in NY resulting in businesses failing or moving out of the state? It is an uneducated guess as to why unemployment statistics for this area are lower. There seems to be more hiring fairs in the news lately, but WHY is the question. Some cases in the manufacturing arena are due to a simple seasonal increase in demand for the product produced or companies moving jobs from areas where production costs are higher to here in the Southeast where the costs of doing business are lower. There is an increase in the LOSS of retail and food service jobs as businesses continue to struggle and fail in today's economic climate. In this area I have seen several restaurants close their doors, some with no notice to the employees. Many of those closing are chain restaurants who are closing locations that have seen decreased patronage and profitability.
