The wife & I need new eyeglasses. Our vision is changing so time for new glasses & we're both nearsighted. I called VisionWorks in N.Utica & they're booked until early August. They have a store on Commercial Dr. so I called them. It was explained to me that they don't have an Opthamologist on staff & eye exams are done using TeleMed where the Dr looks at your eyes on a screen that you look into. Waaaat? I declined an appointment & hung up. When I go for an eye exam I want an eye pro who can actually see for him or herself what's going on. Anyone ever hear of this? I never did.

I guess on-line exams are a thing now, but I don't think I will jump in line to do it. I use Dr. Harris, but I usually schedule my next exam as I am leaving an exam. I have no idea what the lead time is for a new patient.

It could be a scam. You stare into the doctor's eyes and without you knowing he is doing it, he hypnotizes you and proceeds to have you unwittingly give him all of your pertinent information and while you are still thinking he is doing and eye exam he is emptying all your bank accounts and taking out a huge mortgage on your home. When the "exam" is complete he snaps you out of the trance and he tells you that all you need is dollar store cheaters and hangs up.
