Curiosity got the best of me. Food City had alligator filet for $16.49 lb. Disappointment to say the least. I grilled it and it tasted like chicken with a fishy aftertaste, with the emphasis being on the fishy aftertaste. I only ate half of it and gave the dog some. Still have one more helping for the dog. It tasted like someone put a chicken breast and a Tilapia filet in a ziploc and let it marinate for a few days before cooking the chicken breast. It was close to gag worthy.

Yuck. When I was in the Monastery there was a Brother there who came from some small city around New Orleans area I forgot where. Anyway now I remember him tell me how delicious alligator meat was and he had it every time he went home for vacation. I prayed he would never invite me.
I have had shark, octopus, squid and frog legs. Which I like. But shark is out do to the mercury.

I have eaten all those things with the exception of shark. Calamari is my favorite appetizer, and when we go to the local Chinese buffet I bypass the stir fried house cat with broccoli and go directly for the all you can eat frog's legs. We love our Chinese buffet and have eaten there for years with no problems. The food always seems fresh and their kitchen sanitation is probably no worse than any chain restaurant's kitchen. Nowhere else can you eat your fill of frog's legs, fried butterflied shrimp, buffalo chicken wings, and steamed mussels, We haven't contracted salmonella or any other food bourn illness as of yet and we eat there at least once a month.

? stir fried house cat with broccoli. Might be tastier with carrots and water chestnuts and bok choy.

I've eaten all the above other then shark. I only had frog legs once & they didn't appeal to me. There's a meat market in Frankfort that sells ground Bison in one pound packages but I haven't tried it yet. I'm not sure what the price is.

Ground bison is lean and delicious. When I used to go to the midwest every week with a truck many of the truck stops out there served bison steaks and bison burgers. There was a mom and pop truck stop near Mansfield Ohio that served Bison T-bones for only $12 and they had a monster breakfast buffet. Another Single Source Transport driver and myself used to sleep there a couple of times a month when our return load from Iowa took us to the Dayton area. Buffalo steak for supper, a great big truck driver's breakfast, and then the final leg of our trip from there to home.
