My insurance is with Geico. My policy was due 5/7/24 and I paid it 4/14/24. It had a a waiver of liabilty form included. For 6.50. I called to ask what I needed this for as I am single , my ex is deceased and I am the only one driving this car but it was included in my policy they sent. So after going back and forth about 3 to 4 times sending a signed form to decline, yesterday I got an invoice for 1.64 for and all it said was for policy change. Called them and they told me its a charge for the waiver form not received in time. They said they will remove the charge as The clerk didnt process it correctly.. Said they will send me a “correct form”. She emailed it and looking at it and all the other 3 forms I sent to them at their request It is identical. I dont see anything stating revised or any thing else to that effect.
Is anyone aware of this new NYS law about Supplemental Spousal Insurance. I think this is BS and should be going through this rigamarole. Lets just hope I dont see this request again when my insurance is due in November for renewal.

If you're married it's good coverage to have. Before the law was passed if one spouse was injured in an accident & the other spouse was driving & negilegent the injured spouse could be denied coverage by the insurance company. The law was passed in 2023 requiring insurers to offer this coverage.
A married husband can sue his wife if she was driving, caused an accident because she was negiligent & if he was injured he can sue her & vice versa. Lol

My renters insurance is with Geico! For the small amount I am insured for my monthly fee is not bad . I have that too with them . Lived here since 86 and never bought renters insurance until last year after there was a fire a couple floors down. With all the potheads and people that still smoke here I figured maybe I should get coverage.
