Heating up in the south

See it is getting hot down under. My old residence in Eureka missouri has a heat index of 102!

The heat index right now is 91* & tomorrow it may hit 101* according to the NWS. I gave the garden & flowers a good drink of water this morning & they sorely needed it as we were away at a friend's camp since Saturday. And the fish weren't biting either.

Went to 92 here yesterday and going to remain in the mid nineties all week and into next week. It is going to reach 93 or 94 this afternoon.

Several schools are giving kids the afternoon off due to heat.

It is still 91 here at 7:30 pm. The old AC is just cranking for all it is worth. Hate to see the next electric bill. I don't think it has shut off for the last week until about 9 or 10 pm.

Our temperature today broke the previous record. It hit 96 this afternoon. I don't know what the heat index was but it was so hot that I broke a sweat just standing at the gate watching the dog when I took her out. I was out there for about 5 minutes and had to blot the sweat off my face and neck when I came in.

Supposed to have some thunder storms move through and hopefully cool it down a bit. The grass and crops sure need a drink.

The 82 to 88 forecast for tomorrow will feel cool compared to today.

Another hot one. I got some mowing done early and was back in the house by 10am. It only went into the high 80s today but the humidity was killer. It is 11pm now and still hanging at 79 degrees with no air stirring. I was just out with the dog and the air is just muggy and dead.

We have rain forecast for today and on Spectrum weather yesterday said very humid. I have not been outside yet but turned on my AC last night and my apartment is a comfortable 75 degrees.
