wibx950.com/new-york-worst-insurance-rates/$310 a month for full coverage? $90 more than the national average? Wow! I simply would not be able to afford to drive if I lived in NY State. $3700 a year for car insurance is ridiculous. I can't believe that in order to live happily in NY a person needs to make $132,000 a year. I was shocked when I read this article. It is very sad to know that NY residents living on a small and limited retirement income have worked all their lives and now find themselves challenged to even be able to afford to eat, much less afford to pay for car insurance or make a mortgage payment. I guess I have just lost track of the cost of living in NY State. Just a thought, maybe Albany simply needs a good cleaning out and a fresh slate of legislators, governor, and Lt. governor.

We pay $155/mo. for full coverage on two vehicles. That $132,000 figure is a bunch of baloney imho. I know no one who makes that kind of money & they're doing fine.

Of the seniors who live in senior apartments subsidized in part by HUD they get some of the money for insurance back in form of reduced rent. Not sure if they get any help with rent if they are paying a balance on car payments.

The numbers are highly influenced by the metro area. Like everyone else, Barb and I have felt pinched but we do not lack for any necessities. We cut back from two cars to one several years ago (after we got registration renewal bills and I reviewed the calendar and concluded that there had been one day in the previous 30 that both were on the road at the same time). Food prices have gone up but we don't eat as much as previously. We learned to shop carefully early in our marriage and continue to do so today. I don't envy anyone trying to feed teenagers today. I've seen my grandsons pack it away and remember when my kids did the same. Luckily my son works for Casa Imports .

We spend too much on groceries. I could probably stop shopping completely other than for bread and milk, and we could have enough in the freezer and pantry to last us quite awhile. I make a list, but then I wander the aisles any way, buying treats and snacks. Shame on me.

My bog treat are the biscotti and the Monks in Rochester make and sell along with their famous Monks Bread. They sell in bundles and the Biscotti I like come in a six pack for $49,99. Now with everything going up in price I wasn't able to purchase for a long time so I decided to send an email suggesting they run a sale on biscotti , they do on other products and occasionally on biscotti. Now sure if they still are not permitted to read the newspaper , I know TV and radio and internet is forbidden, so I talked about basic economics during inflation on groceries and other necessities. Well they started a sale on biscotti which is 4 boxes for $29.99 shipping is free always. Bingo my treat is on and arrived three days ago!!!!!! Since the Monks rule of life is dictated by the Constitutions of the strict observance of St. Bernard I am not sure who to thank, God, St, Bernard or them. So they all got a huge thank you!!!!!

I used to buy biscotti occasionally. I always dunked it in my coffee. Haven't had it in years. I like soft cookies, like chocolate chip or sugar drop cookies.
