The doctor released Kathy this afternoon. They seem to have the bleeding in her bladder controlled so they put in the pic line yesterday. I thought I was going to have to administer the infusions of antibiotic but the doctor ordered a home health agency that does home infusions to do the infusion once a day for 6 days.
One has to wonder with today's drug prices how much six days of that regimen will cost. Well, I had a phone call a little while ago and they are delivering the 6 days worth tonight for the home health nurse to use starting tomorrow. I don't know what the cost of the medication is, but the guy that called said he would be here in about 2 hours. He is coming from Knoxville. He is not going to be making a 125 mile each way trip for free that's for sure.
I am relieved to hear that home health is going to come daily to monitor and clean her foley and to do the infusion.
My tired and raggedy old body doesn't have to do the 100yd walk from the car several times a day any more. It is a big hospital and when you hit the front doors you are only about half way to the room she was in.

I used to go up in the morning for two or three hours to be there when the doctor made his rounds, then home to let the dog out. Back a little after noon for another couple of hours and if supper wasn't anything she liked I went back up at 6 or so with some take out for her supper and would stay to watch wheel and jeopardy.
