Does anyone know the codes for screen doors and window screens in NYS? I believe all rental units are required to have them, but I can't find anything about it/ thanks.

I don't believe so unless local building codes require them. I would call Utica codes & ask them. One would think screens would be a requirement especially if there are toddlers in the household, but what do I know? |

If it is HUD related housing I am not sure. All HUD related buildings I have seen in this area ( Utica ) have screens on windows but not doors. I did notice that the new apartments in Obleston do not have window screens unless they are inside the windows as well as no screens on those apartments with a shared porch. I never liked the way that building had a shared porch with next door neighbor. I think it can prove dangerous and would definitely want dead bolts on rear door of apartment.
