I loved tent camping when I was younger. My first husband and I camped with friends at several different locations in the Adirondacks as well as a few places around Northern & Central New York. We did eventually trade up to a pop-up camper. We always had a great time, but I don't think I'd find it so much fun now. Besides the fact that I hate the thought of sleeping in the cold and damp, for some reason any time I get an insect bite now I swell up and itch for weeks!!

Thanks Dave! There are actually 2 slide-outs, one for the couch and one for the bunks. :-)

I'm going out for the last time next weekend. Not a long backpack hike, but wilderness camping none the less. There's a spot in the Irish Hills in Michigan thats still accessable and rustic. Strictly tents, small campfires and sleeping bags for me.

We can't do the wilderness camping stuff...we have to have electricity so we can plug our son's 'ear' in. Those disposable batteries cost too much so we save those for emergencies only. The rechargeables only stay charged for 12 hours, so we have to plug 'em in while camping!

That's enough camping for this year. After we came home our internet went down; hence, I haven't been here for the fun & frolic.
What did I miss?

You missed a few items of discussion, but most of all we missed your posting, haha. I needed help to get some of these threads into the flusher, and I was all alone. At least when you are around, I can blame it on you when Ralph breaks out the toilet pictures.
