www.wktv.com/The weather photo is cute but does a person really want to encourage woodchucks to hang around? Their property will look like a minefield if they all take up residence in your yard. We had a resident woodchuck around the back yard for years. It's hole was in the fence row and not a problem. The problem arose when it started using our garden as it's favorite buffet. It managed to get past the fencing around the garden and help itself. I finally happened to actually see it at work early one morning and quickly euthanized it with a 22 hollow point, put it in a trash bag and into the garbage can. They are normally happy to dine on grass, but if they burrow in your yard or leave grass behind for a more sophisticated diet of fresh vegetables and garden plants they become a pest.
