The tv keeps going to weather warnings from the National Weather Service in Morristown Tn. There are tornado warnings to our South and a super cell thunderstorm moving eastward about 40 miles to our South with extremely large hail and rotation indicated. There are severe thunderstorm warnings for us. We may get up to three inches of rain, 60 mph wind gusts, and quarter size hail. The conditions are right today for these storms to possible spawn a tornado. I had things to do but they will wait until tomorrow. The car will stay under the carport, safe from hail damage. They are saying that in some places there will be hail damage to roofs, cars and siding with the stronger storms coming in our area coming between 6pm and 11pm.
One of the unpleasant aspects of living in the South. I hate these days with weather warnings interrupting programing on tv, and national weather service warnings coming over the NOAA weather radio. I have two Ipads, an Iphone, and Kathy's portable oxygen all charged and ready if needed. We also have oxygen tanks in case of a prolonged power outage.
With Kathy in need of constant supplemental oxygen I really need to purchase a standby generator system. In the meantime we DO have the generator on the motorhome to enable me to charge the batteries for Kathy's oxygen concentrator if it should become necessary. Prolonged power outages were always an inconvenience, but we always had a camper to fall back on, and now a motorhome with a generator. It has the potential to become a critical issue with Kathy depending on oxygen 24/7.
Keeping the gas and propane full on the motorhome gives us the comfort of knowing that we always have a place to cook and sleep with heat in winter and AC in summer with TV and NOAA radio available and I can access the internet on my phone.
