wibx950.com/ixp/341/p/6-to-1-grocery-shopping-hack/It is hard to believe that an "average" family is spending $975 per month on groceries. I remember my mom and dad spending about 40 bucks or so to feed a family of 5 and we ate well. I would hazard a guess that Kathy and I spend around 2 to 3 hundred a month on groceries for just 2 of us, and we eat very well, even with the shocking prices for meats and other items. When I see someone coming out of the supermarket with a buggy stacked high with groceries and several kids in tow I am always curious as to what the bottom line on the cash register receipt was. Even for a two income family, add the grocery bill to the mortgage payment, gas for the car and clothes for the critters, finances must be a real challenge.

EVERYTHING cost a lot more today, which I would call severe inflation. It's complicated as to why this is happening, but I don't think at this time Biden should be giving trillions of our tax-payer dollars to this or that country when we citizens need those dollars right here in the USA. Biden is President of the United States, he's not the Savior of the world.

I agree 100% Kit. We sent all those tanks to Ukraine and they aren't using them because they are vulnerable to Russian attack. One is left to wonder how much of the money he has sent there is actually used for the intended purpose and how much goes into someone's pockets.

In terms of large families 3 or more kids I am in favor of building an orphanage at St Lukes or St E's so parents having a difficult time feeding and clothing and supplying them with toys and other objects of nonsense they can turn their kids over to the County so the poor parents can get some relief. Inflation is killing them for sure.

I have been saying that for months PB. Of course in recent times if the government runs short of money they just crank up the presses and print some more. I just happened to read about the tanks that are sitting unused after we took them from our own military and shipped them to Ukraine.
The US has become and ATM for the world with no repayment necessary. I try not to think like an isolationist, but we need to take care of our own FIRST, and then allocate a a reasonable amount, an amount that we can afford, to other nations. We are always the first to give other nations sit back and watch while sitting on their wallets.
We should focus on the homeless and poverty stricken right here at home first. In the mean time we are expected to pay off student loans while students put aside their focus on education and focus on buying tents and camping out on the quad.

Re: aid to Ukraine. It's costing us dollars. It's costing the Russians a generation of young men. I like that a lot better than when the situation was reversed in Viet Nam. Moscow can stop the war any time it wants. Ukraine's choice is to fight or be swallowed by Russia.

We need more support for Ukraine & less Russian propoganda puked from the House floor by hacks like MTG & the Senate floor by nimrods like Ron Johnson. Anyone who thinks that money saved by stopping aid to Ukraine will go to help working people, the poor or those retired is sadly mistaken. And the party that tried to take healthcare away from millions of people & who want to gut SS, Medicare, Medicaid etc sure as hell wouldn't approve it.

Inflation is killing them for sure. I don't think that would work today. Very few low income families or low income single parents would be willing to give their kids up to be raised in an institution. Yes, there are abandoned kids but not on the scale that would justify a large orphanage.
