www.foxnews.com/us/colorado-funeral-home-owners-found-decomposing-bodies-charged-covid-fraud200 families are left to grieve after trusting these people to cremate their loved ones. I certainly would not want to be the poor soul that was first to open the door and walk into that building. The stench and the flies and maggots would have to have been overwhelming and gag worthy. There is something about this story that leaves me especially sad for the families of the deceased as well as extremely disgusted that anyone could totally disregard the feelings of the surviving family members and the dignity of the deceased. I have read of funeral directors improperly disposing of bodies that were slated for cremation in the past. There is something about that particular crime that is especially offensive and sad.

Hopefully the decomposing remains can be identified. If so they can still be cremated and be delivered to the families in the same condition as if they had recently passed. The results would be the same. As far as the owners of the Back To Nature Funeral Home, what they did was disgusting, irreverent and criminal. I'll bet that several of the families would like to meet them in a dark alley some night when the police aren't around.

Identifying the remains could be easily facilitated if they were tagged in some way, otherwise it will be a monumental task to identify 200 bodies through DNA or possibly dental records.
What were those people thinking? Were they planning to just empty their bank accounts, pack up their ditty bags and run?
I can't imagine being the one that has to work with those decomposing bodies. Processing just one decomposing body would not be pleasant, but to have 200 bodies? God bless that person.
I remember a case many years ago where a body was found in a pickup truck after having run off the road and down into a ravine. It was July and hot as hell, and the body was closed up in the truck for an extended period of time before it was discovered. I knew someone who responded to that scene and they said the stench when they opened the truck door literally made them immediately vomit. The brand new truck was taken to a garage, all the upholstery and the headliner were removed, the interior was sprayed several times with lime, and I heard that there was no success in getting rid of the odor, leaving them with a brand new pickup that ended up being crushed and recycled.
