Started the day waiting for a tilt bed to come to the house to pick up the car and take it to the dealer. The coolant pump crapped the bed. Covered on the drive train warranty but it is just an inconvenience. I imagine they will have it for several days. The service manager told me that they have to take half the front of the car off to get to the pump. In the meantime I could have a rental but I probably won't bother with that option. My sister loaned me her Buick Enclave. Since my brother in-law died she has been favoring his Ford Expedition over the Buick.
Did the weather allow for decent eclipse viewing? It was rainy with almost complete cloud cover here. There was a small hole that opened up during the eclipse and people could get a half assed peek at it. We weren't in the zone where it would completely block out the sun anyway. It actually didn't even get very dark here or stay dark for very long. It was like dusk for about an hour or so. Not dark enough to even turn on the yard lights that have an auto light sensor.
I just stayed in the shop working on our push mower that I trim with. It hasn't been starting or running well so I changed the oil and air filter, cleaned the carb and replaced the diaphragm. I don't have time for that eclipse nonsense. My next door neighbor and his wife stood in their front yard, staring at the sky for over an hour. They probably will be rubbing each other's stiff necks with Icy hot tonight. The moon blocked out the sun and it got dark in some places. Not here. It got dark while we were eating dinner. Happens every night. No special glasses needed.
Have you ever went to the ATM and found it was not there? I went to the bank a little while ago to take out $100 from the ATM " for walking around money." I pull into bank and the when I come around the corner of the building there was no ATM to be seen. Just a note on a post apologizing and telling customers to go to another of their branches for ATM transactions because someone had destroyed the ATM trying to steal it or break into it. I just opted to pay the $3 service charge to take the money out of one of the mom and pop ATMs in a convenience store.
