Parking garage oops wasn't caused by lack of planning. The primary cause was Brett Truet from the No Hospital Downtown group buying a building in the garage footprint and filing numerous delaying lawsuits.

"The best laid plans..." Wynn Hospital is another example of poor planning. They opened the hospital and moved all the patients in pretty much at once, then oops! We forgot to finish the parking garage. Now I hear that it won't be ready until summer. Fortunately, the Olbiston has plenty of time to realize the problem and I suspect they'll change the move-in schedule. I suspect that may indeed happen and I will try to find out on Thursday.

Wynn Hospital is bleeding so much cash that their only hope is to be bought out by some for profit hospital group. Parking is the least of their worries.

I have not seen any financials yet. Have you seen anything showing it is worse than before?

I see the sign is up on the Obliston saying rentals are now available. I just might move in but I have to see a one bedroom apartment first.

Duh, MVHS is a public corporation, I can look up tax filings myself. Comparing 2022 to 2023, contributions were down and expenses were down. Makes sense, a lot of fund raising and a lot of spending building a new hospital while operating. The net result was positive. Fund balances were larger at the end of 2023 than at the end of 2022. Very good when you consider where we were a few years ago. St. E's would have been bankrupt. It had a negative cash flow and zero reserves. It will be interesting to see what happens over the next few years.

I see the sign is up on the Obliston saying rentals are now available. I just might move in but I have to see a one bedroom apartment first. OK. Pizza: this is how the deal goes down: You have from now until May 1st to apply, after that apps are closed and you go onto a waiting list. You have to call the number and get a phone interview. Before that you apply on line. The applications are at Olbiston/CRM...or something like that. You can find it. After 2 phone interviews you then have an onsite interview with a manager at the Park Edge TownHouses on Deborah Drive in North Utica. Interviews are set up through the CRM mgmt office and are only on Thurs from 1 to 4:30. You will need all your documentation. Next you will recieve an acceptance letter, then your name goes into a lottery. The lottery is on Woods Drive in North Utica or on facebook live at 6 PM on May 18th. They strongly indicate that they would like the potential tenants to be there or on FB live. The acceptance letter specifically states that if your name is chosen and they cannot reach you " at that point in time", your application is officially withdrawn. They are not showing the apts early, but there are schematics on line at the CRM Managment site. I viewed them last night, they have 1, 2 bedrooms, studios only. I can't tell you how to find the site because I am computer luddite. The rental agent will tell you that. If you are chosen move in's begin July1st, how they are going to do that I don't know. That's how they roll. Good luck if anyone thinks it's like the good old days where you walk through the door and rent an apt. Nothing could be farther from the truth.

Pizza: you will need the following: Birth cert, benefit statement from social security, original SS card ( not a copy), bank statements dated after April 1st ( actual statements, not ATM reciepts), proof of residency, proof of all forms of income, benefit statement ( budget) from EBT if you have it, drivers liscence or photo ID. That may be a short list depending on your financials.

Anyone heard anything on the yuuuuuge Olbiston move that was supposed to happen this weekend? Nothing in local new media so I'm wondering if it did or didn't happen. I pity anyone who would have to move furniture etc in this heat.

It wasn't an "Oops" . The no hospital downtown group spent a lot of time and money delaying the parking garage.

I overheard two people on the Bus talking about Kennedy Piazza Apartments being sold to Wynn Hospital ( MVHS) because it will be needed for housing of med students and others from MVHS employees. I was wondering if anyone else heard about this. Apparently the tenants at Kennedy have been told to start finding other places to live. I didn't hear the two people mention anything about when tenants have to be out. Also surprised if this is true why no mention in any news media!
