Do any of you wear the hearing aids that are completely in your ear? I have the type that fits over my ear with little monofilament thing in my ear canal and I am not fond of them. I was wondering it the ones that fit directly in your ear are more comfortable and do they stay in. I wonder if a person has to worry about one falling out and losing it. I had quit wearing them during the pandemic after I had one go flying across the driving lane at the grocery store when I took my mask off. Thank goodness it didn't get run over. I find it a bit ironic that our VA still requires a mask while in the facility. I shall have to be very cautious when I remove the mask. I have to go to Johnson City to the VA hearing clinic today because my right hearing aid has ceased to function. It feels a bit weird with a hearing aid in only one ear. Kathy told me to make and appointment and get it fixed. She says she is getting sick of having to repeat herself and to yell for me to hear her, haha. Just one quick question. Is the TV too loud when it makes the picture window rattle, hahaha.

You can buy cheater hearing aids that do not require a prescription just like reading glasses! Save a bundle. I saw them in the pharmacy area of my favorite store Walmart.

I don't need to worry about cost. I am a disable veteran and the VA covers my hearing aids. I am hoping that they have upgraded what they give out to include those that can be controlled from a cell phone. They even cover the batteries. When I get an order of batteries there is always a card included to mail order the next batch.

I bet the technology is here already that would allow you to answer phone call in your hearing add and just talk to another person and it gets picked up by the hearing aid.

My partner has Bluetooth hearing aids. He's able to make phone calls with them and hears all his text notifications through them. Pretty handy.

They repaired the one that was not working. They only give a person new hearing aids every 6 to 8 yrs. I have another year and a half to go.
I haven't been wearing them regularly like I should so it is strange to be able to hear so clearly again.
There was a guy there in the waiting room waiting for a repair. He had dropped his "in the ear" hearing aid on a ceramic tile floor and it had split into two pieces. It was still working so believe it or not, he put it together with DUCT TAPE, LOL. When the technician came out to get him he said he had been working there for over 15 yrs and thought he had seen everything, but had never seen a hearing aid held together with duct tape. Could have been worse. The guy could have used JB Weld.

I understand that in the pharmaceutical industry they are experimenting with all type of delivery ways for medications. One interesting " pill " actually capsule holds all your meds for a month. You simply take the capsule swallow it with water each month. You are reminded when a medication is being released and when to call the Doc for a refill and when the capsule will be evacuated from your body all sent though notifications on your cell phone or you can receive an actual call.
