I hope you all enjoy the warm spell with temperatures in the forties and fifties this coming week.
We are also enjoying temperatures in the fifties and even may reach the low sixties with sunshine until at least Thursday.
Heading out to haul some wood from the woodpile up in back to the garage rack. I chuckle every time I look at the woodpile up in back. It has been such a mild winter and I have burned very little wood in the garage. Between the shop and camping I will probably have enough wood to last for at least 4 or 5 yrs. I still have a huge pile of blocked up wood in the side yard, unsplit, waiting for someone the take it for free. It is from a huge maple that the power company had cut down. I am still debating whether I want to pay someone to haul it off, or to split it and either give it away or sell it. The power company paid Asplundh to clear under all their lines last summer, the market is flooded with ads for firewood and there are still plenty of yards with piles of blocked up wood that people can't get rid of. I wish I owned a stump grinder. I would be a wealthy man before long.

There is a guy who ones efficiency apartments on Herkimer Road across the street from Parkedge Townhomes. He sells a huge amount of seasoned wood being that his property is covered in some very large trees. Over the years I have watched his inventory of trees shrink. Last Halloween he cut up large logs stood them flat side to the road a painted pumpkins and bats and witches on each log. Looked nice. Enjoy your early spring.

It made it to 40° so far, but I wouldn't exactly call it spring weather.

Hey, it's only early February. I'd rather have winter now then late March into April. We've been there, done that.

Don't worry I predict 5 feet of snow during March and mid April!!!!!!!! If your prediction comes true I hope it has all that snow falling somewhere North of the Mason-Dixon line. As for me? I put my faith in a rodent named Phil. This last warm spell actually has grass turning green here, and yesterday while I was out in the back yard with the dog I spotted a little yellow object in the distance. Further investigation revealed that it was a lonely little dandelion plant about 3 or 4 inches in diameter flaunting an anemic looking bloom not much larger than a dime. Personally I think that little weed has an unmitigated nerve jumping the line and blooming ahead of the daffodils and crocuses.
