We went out to a steak house for my birthday. Kathy had a prime rib and I had a 28 oz tomahawk ribeye. That was one huge two inch thick piece of meat. I ate the side salad and most of the meat but skipped the rest of the sides. We started with a free blooming onion appetizer that was free because it was my birthday. I still have about 6 ounces of steak to warm up tomorrow and have with my eggs in the morning.

Happy Birthday Clipper. In honor of your special day I had a split Hass avacado drizzled with lemon juice, 3 cherry tomatoes, a soft boiled egg, 1 slice of bacon and a cup of Chinese green tea for breakfast. Gotcha!!

Happy Birthday Clipper. In honor of your special day I had a split Hass avacado drizzled with lemon juice, 3 cherry tomatoes, a soft boiled egg, 1 slice of bacon and a cup of Chinese green tea for breakfast. Gotcha!! Sounds great. I splurged yesterday and I am seeing my cardiologist today. This morning breakfast was a poached egg on toast, a banana, and a cup of joe. Needless to say I won't be telling the doctor that I ate 28 ounces of red meat yesterday, lol. Ironic that me and my guilty conscience are seeing her today. Follow-up to having my heart shocked back into rhythm. That steak was a heart attack looking for a place to happen. I would not order anything that large again.

How would you cook a 28oz steak at home on your stove top without turning it into leather? Maybe on the grill?

I wouldn't even try to cook a 28oz steak on a stove top. I would insure that it was properly seared and then would put it on the grill until the internal temperature registers 135 degrees for medium rare.

thestayathomechef.com/cook-perfect-tomahawk-steak/When I was in seminary at St Bernards in Rochester I went out to eat one day with three other seminarians to this steak restaurant we all likes. It was a local restaurant not a chain. We all had a steak dinner which excellent. Father Dan as he is known now ordered his blood rare. Just sear each side he instructed our server. That is way to rare for me I think it was still alive!!!!!!!

Kathy used to bowl in the Tennessee State Women's Tournament with a lady that would tell the waiter that she wanted her steak cooked for 2 minutes on each side and if it were any more done that that she would send it back. I can eat a steak that is rare as long as it is somewhat tender and chewable.
